Description
A pumpkin shape craft that works all fall: three circles build the round pumpkin, and small triangles, a rectangle and a square finish the face and bow tie.
Children match each piece to its outline, count the shapes and write about their pumpkin, with a 2 page lesson plan.
INSIDE THE CRAFT
You will get 14 pages, including:
▴ 2 page lesson plan: learning goal, skills, materials, lesson steps, ways to make it easier or harder, extension ideas and a quick check
▴ Shape pieces in black and white, to color and cut (11 pieces: three circles for the round pumpkin, a rectangle stem, a triangle leaf, circle cheeks, a triangle nose and a bow tie)
▴ The same pieces in color, ready to cut or laminate (for reusable durability)
▴ Build mat with every piece as a dashed outline in its real size
▴ Count the Shapes page and Write About My Pumpkin page with traceable shape words
▴ Answer key
▴ US Letter, 8.5 x 11 inches (for A4, choose Fit to Page)
WHAT MAKES IT WORK
The pumpkin works for October, Halloween week and Thanksgiving season alike, so one print lasts all fall.
Each piece fits only on the outline of the same shape and size, which makes the craft self-checking.
No prep for the teacher: print the pages and let children color, cut and glue. Finished crafts become a Halloween display.
Aligned with Kindergarten Common Core K.G.A.2 and K.G.B.6, and a strong foundation for those skills in preschool.
